how stiff does a raceboard needs to be

Postby windfreak74 » Wed Jun 01, 2011 1:19 am

Im in the verge of building my first fun race board!
Knockoff sector!!!
I need reference on how stiff the board has to be.
Does the board need any kind of flex or just a stiff board.
It apears to me that the board rides more on the fins than on the board.
can someone point me the way?
Thanks,
Pedro

good choice on the sector just be sure it is the 60 the 50 requires more wind as for the fins yes it does ride about one half on the fins and half on the shape but for my advice dont angle the fins out more than a very small amount as angleing them out onlt causes disruptoin of water in the other side of the board the straighter the fins face down the flatter the board can be ridden and the more efficent the ride the small tail makes a board more user friendly and turn easily the full nose and wide section in the middle pushes the board up on a plane right away be sure to slant the fins to the rear GOOD LUCK
