Techtonics Talons, 38cm rear with 42 fronts at a 4 deg cant angle. The gybe is much simpler then the little 2008 north ltd. If it's not t-storming on Wednesday the temp should be in the 80s. Even with 40is water no boots should be possible. So much better riding barefoot.

Did I read that correctly on the video that you used Type F in your epoxy resin?

Additive F. It helps reduce blush, increasing the bond between sucesive coats. Also helps it flow out nicely. Makes for easy hot coats. Great stuff. The Resign Research epoxy is so the best stuff for surfboard and kiteboards. Tried west system, system 3, MAS and a few others. Love the RR epoxy and I'm just going to stick with it from now on. You can find the right speed, flow and flex in his line somewhere no matter what your application be it hand layup, vac bagging or infusion.

Thanks, I know additive F will damage EPS - I see now that you used it after your first coat. I'm not quite at the resin stage on my board, just starting the shaping process...

I used it on all the coats. It's safe for EPS use. I didn't use any when put the boxes and inserts in but I will on the next board. You can use it at any stage.

I am a kook so hard to say. I think the next one will be more light wind specific with slightly less rocker and slightly gentler rails. Removing the second set of straps forward. Next one will be lighter core with v bagged divinycell sandwich for lighter weight. I love the forward fixed go pro mount. Moving the center back strap forward one foot strap width for light wind starts. Not as hard to ride as I thought it would be but not as easy as a twin tip.

I like to thank gbleck for posting his Build. I've shaped surfboards, surfboards for Kiting and a couple of twin tips, and I'd have to say these course race board are a little more time consuming to build. Some guys locally have started to show more interest in racing, so I thought it's time for me to give it a go with my own build. Many of my questions about fin boxes were answered in this post. Thanks again gbleck!!
Build is as follows: from deck to bottom
Vacuum bagged in two different pulls. Bottom first and then deck in rocker table.
6oz e glass RR epoxy
3mm paulownia
4oz e glass
1lb eps foam core
4oz E glass
3mm cork skin/rails
6oz E glass

double 6oz patches around footstraps and finboxes.
tuttle boxes wrapped in 1/4" divinycell

Hopefully it will stay together under the stress of racing and the abuse of me learning to race

Have you started your next board yet?

I haven't gotten the chance to ride a raceboard yet. Just started kiting last summer, and finally realized it was easier for me to ride my surfboard then a tt. So I have been practicing on my surfboard till I can build my own raceboard. I will definitely be hitting up this thread and watching the videos again!! Very cool!

So zmax, interesting combination of materials.
Did you get to weigh the board before you put all the grip ,straps, and fins on? Do you have a final weight?
