Bin contemplating this lay-up for a while now.
Had molded a mock-up of the rails and filled them with half spectra and half carbon
about a week ago.The rocker mold becomes the placement aliment tool when pined
to the main mold after the board bottom has bin laid up.
Went over the lay-up several times and had directions pined to the wall. All my parts had bin
pre-cut and laid out in the order they go in the mold
The plan was to do the board bottom first and it went well. I had planned to do the top-deck tomorrow so
it's gonna be a double vacuum bagged board.
Next i Pulled the peal-ply off the rails and place them with the alignment tool, plenty of time because
my Epoxy was mixed with a 60min pot-life and pored off into tree separate containers to eliminate exothermic.
I have a choice from anywhere between 15 min to 4 hours working time with ---MSG--- Epoxy.
((WTF)) !!!
The alignment pins won't go in holes, they seam skewed somehow, i burn 20min fixing the problem.
Next comes my pre-cut and tapered core of honeycomb, It doesn't wanna prepare properly with the
roller and cavacil mixture i had made. It's gotta be perfect or risk a de-lam. i burn another unexpected
20-30 min getting it perfect ; meanwhile the pot-life of my epoxy is near maxed out.
Luckily the bagging usually goes easy ; but NOT this time, i cut the edge of the bag by snagging it on
my work bench. I Fix it !
NOW the bag won't seal properly, musta got some oil or something on it, so i pull that section & wipe it
with acetone, then repress it in place.
I plug in the vacuum pump and the fuse immediately blows !
So does the new one, and the one after ... ... ...
I Loose the part in the mold --------------------------------------------------------------- Then Wake-Up.
It was ALL just a Nightmare !!
A Really BAD trick played on me by my subconscious, while i was sleeping .
