Vacuum pump

Postby alecsstefan » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:18 am

Hi, I want to build my first board and need advice about what pump I should use for vacuum bagging. Should I go for the fridge compressor route or will this little pump do the job:

Hard to know if that will work, I don't know if anyone has tried one. The question is can it move enough air if there are a few small leaks, and also, how long can it run for? I don't know the answers to that though....

One thing to keep in mind is that even thoug they quote a certain flow rate, I think it gets lower when there is more vacuum, plus with what looks like small hoses, there can be losses in the system affecting that too.
