Just M O though

Yes , nobody would say anything if i molded a production board ; for me it
would be easy , and the epoxy gel-coat on the mold would look like a glass
mirror when i finished.
But
Your talking to a guy that slammed in from 450ft on a HG ; then Died. And
stayed dead till the lifeguards climbed up the cliff and did CPR. This was Not
the accident where i lost my legs !!
I haven't stolen anything since that day in the mid 80's, because i know it could
happen at any moment again.

This isn't meant to be some religious sermon , but before 1985 i would Not think
twice about dating a neglected or abused married woman ; & now i Wouldn't do that
even though the offers still present themselves.

This is a reminder of just how Bad a day can get ; yea that's me in the shot !

And with that note --- i choose to find another way to ride a foil, other than stealing it.

Sort of.

The Gates prevent any air that results from cavitation to create an airpocket around the Wing that would result in a spinout.

We experimented with that on the main mast to solve the spin out problem during manoeuvres which put a lot of sideways force on the mast. In the end changing the profile of the mast was enough to stop the mast pulling air.

Just FYI.

This is our newest build just finished yesterday. Sixth Generation.

Managed to make it way more stable by extending the Fuselage. The new profile and new back wing shape made a huge difference in Speed and control.

JMF thanks for the clarification.
and all the more respect to you for mentioning it.

Sorry to tech out,
Think you mean ventilation not cavitation. Ventilation is when air is sucked down the low pressure side of the foil, causing hydrofoil to become airfoil..... Cavitation is when the pressure drops so much the water begins boiling causing hydrofoil to become airfoil. (usually only happens around 50-60knots) but then again maybe you flysurfer guys are secretly riding those foils REALLY fast. :o

Gunnar placed a disclaimer with that opening line : "Sort of" .

Anyway i got the idea about how the air bubbles destroy the lift with his explanation.

No no. Johnny is right. I meant Ventilation when talking about our Main mast sucking air.

You learn a new english term every day :-) Thanks Johnny!

Gunnar that foil looks bad ass. Thats the length of that fuselage if I may ask. I also went a little longer on mine 760mm.

Below a video of a foil caveating, pretty amazing stuff.

Cool Video!!

It a great coincidence, our fuselage is also 76cm :-)

If you want to stay up to date, we have a Facebook page dedicated to the Foil project at Magma.

Also here is a Sequence of a Carve on the new Foil from today :-)
