I wonder how much vacuum your ventury device thing pulls? I'd find that out first before you purchase.

fridge pump is pretty damn reliable. they are made to turn on an off repeading every 10 mins or so for years and years. when you think about it they are designed for more continuous use than your air compressor.

But try your way and let us know if it works. If you want a reliable tried and true method that thousands of hobbyist vac baggers have used for many years without issues then go the fridge pump way. It works.

vac ting is indicated to go down to minus 28, so, close to zero and more then what is needed !

i found one that is using 2.1 cfm at 80n psi, so, close to what my compressor can do : 2.6 at 90.
this thins sucks not more then 1 cfm BUT i think i heard that frigde pumps are not stronger ?

i'm thinking ( but need to confirm ) that if i lower the psi out from comp. just before total vac is achieved in the bag is should maintain les vacum ( i have to chek cause, if i lower psi to mutch, venturi does not work anymore ) but, if you chek venturi device from west system ( witch is EXPENSIVE ) is says that it works till 40 psi in producing less vac ( dont remember but close 5 or 6 ) that's probably enought to clam anyways.

SO, anyways, i was thinking this: compressor ( have it ), venturi ( 49 dollars ), chek valve ( 15 dollars ), vacum gauge ( 5 to 25 ?? dollars ), tubes, bag. staying close by to let comp run if system is not leak prof and turn it off some times if leak prof. for fisrt attempt.

If it works board building i mean, i was thinking going with MAC valve before venturi and air tank ( vacuum reserve ) past check valve.

sounds crazy ? ? small, easy to do, nothing to cheez around ( i'm good with wood and such Solid stuff but, suck at electricity and small thinks ).

You would be surprised how often a vacuum pump is used in industry, just need to know what you r looking for. If you r in a rush to build on a fixed budget then you will be headed for failure. Keep looking you will find a vac pump that will work. The vac gen is a bad idea pure and simple heard stories about people using these no happy endings. Take your time, read more on the Internet. I have 3 different pumps in my garage and not one of them is a fridge compressor.

Think quality of the unit rather than quantity of air removal you do not need to remove that much air.

Whatever you decide be sure and test it first see if it will suck for 6 hours do a bag and seal it.

Fridge compressors work ok. Generally you want to have as big a pressure gradient as possible during the infusion and then lower the vacuum after the mold is filled in order to allow the resin to level off and to collapse porosities.

If you are sure that the mold is bagged properly you can just run the infusion, drop the pressure a bit and let it level and then just clamp it off. That will also put less strain on the pump.
