I made a sled router thing that I never really liked. I found I could belt sander fast enough but messy as it all is.
Coiler snowbords which made JC Jays olympic boards swear by the belt sander.
I would rather get a bigass cnc table going if I ever get to the point I must reproduce in qty. These days not such a big expense either.

For TTs, judging from this last photo, there would be no benefit, because the top is very similar to the bottom.
Regarding Wood vs. Foam. I would say this is light vs. heavy rider discusion.
I'm 90kgs and that thrashes the foam in the fotpad area.
