My next project is to build a transparent wakeboard, based on the same principles as my transparent kiteboard.
It will feature the following:
- * Progressive 3 stage rocker, flat centre, flat tips, 6cm rocker (static)
* Length: 136cm, width: 48cm, straight mid-section, tucked in tips
I've finished the moulds, and will be starting the actual build in the next few weeks.
I'm making videos this time around, hope you find them interesting

Looks like awesome work you are doing there!!!
Keep the idea and vids coming.
Im also thinking moulds are the way to go to be able to build more complex surfaces.

Sjoe. It's been a year since I started this post. Unbelievable.
I've been having huge amounts of fun collaborating with KerryBara doing the infusion boards, but it's time to finish this project.
Having recently gotten into wakeskating I've decided to bastardize this project a bit and cut off the ends of the beam to make a shorter wakeskate instead of a wakeboard.
The plan is to literally just saw off the excess and seal the beam ends with resin, before sticking them onto a piece of polycarb.
I finished the first beam in the last week or so, and made a short video about it. Hope you like it!

Here's a little video showing the final assembly.
The magic ingredient is the industrial strength methacrylate structural adhesive.

Final specs on the wakeskate:
- size: 110cm x 50cm
rocker: 5cm static rocker (blended 3-stage)
weight: 5kg - it barely floats
I took it for a spin at the cable park, and I am very happy with the results.
The grip tape works brilliantly even though it doesn't cover the entire surface.
I think I will add some 0.7" wake fins as it is a bit slippery.
I thought the weight would be a problem, but it is actually a non-issue. If anything, it seems to be more tolerant of off-axis landings.
I'm dubbing it the Disco Tank

Well I found the next weak spot.
This happened on a fairly hard landing. Snapped clean through.

Ditto now I also don't feel so bad
At the break it was approx 200gsm glass running down the length of the beam (0deg).
I think the layup was 220gsm 0/90 + another layer of 150gsm 0/90, so only in the 0 deg direction is 110+75, ok so actually 185gsm glass.
Obviously not enough. For glass.
