Blake,
Beautiful Board! Great idea flipping the strips 90 to apply glue with a roller - wish I had seen it before I built my cedar skimboard. I biscuit joined mine - probably overkill but made alignment easy.
My skim's shape concept was somewhat similar to your bottom shape - influenced by the mako relationship between concave and rocker. I used a bandsaw to shape my strips to the rocker profile then did the concave with a belt sander. Next time I'm considering building a rocker/concave table to clamp the board down to while laminating the strips. Hopefully the glue will hold the rocker and concave in place with a bit of springback. Would reduce sanding to just smoothing out edges - plus cutting all those strips on a bandsaw was a pain! Curious to see how you did your shaping.
I've met you before at Presquile (Greg) - hope to see you there this summer!

+1 to see more update
I have been looking around for a first project, looked great until I realized it's missing next steps lol.
Just finished building a bunch of furniture for the house, I thought I will start playing around with board building next. Looked like a good first project, those board looks like a lot of fun in light wind.

It's been about a year or so, and I think my glue is almost dry!
I kid I kid.
Was pretty excited to start reading this. Hopefully more to come.
