Arigato
PS I was under impression you'll use Black Diamond Vector Net, as this are seen on many boards The glue advice is applicable to BDiamond as well.
KiteDR, there are good sources of blanks and build kits from Greenlight surf supplies and others in USA. Greenlight has some good guides online.KiteDR wrote:At the risk of sounding ignorant - I'm interested in a project like this over the winter here in Minnesota, and I recognize it looks like a lot of work and a Vader or Vanguard shaped MPH may be a long shot for a first board. Where might I start by ordering a blank, what tools are necessary, etc etc.
TomW - I follow your FB page and love the work you're doing based on the EVO shape (if I'm not mistaken). Is that an easier shape to start with over Vader?
Thanks very much for the compliments JR! : )Johnny Rotten wrote:kaito-san
That is beautiful!
I hope it rides as well or better than the Vader,
I had a ride on one recently and was blown away with the speed.
Magic board....and for the record your's looks better. You do work to be proud of.
What did you use to cut down 1/2 the finbox that goes into the channel?
I was going to suggest Greenlight as well. Thanks TomW!TomW wrote:KiteDR, there are good sources of blanks and build kits from Greenlight surf supplies and others in USA. Biggest difficulty in building boards like vanguard and Evo with complicated bottom contours is glassing and sanding. If it's your first glass job, you will have difficulty avoiding tenting and Sand through. You'll have to start building to get experience.
