Bindings do not fit stock spacings

Postby PeterB » Wed Jul 27, 2016 6:33 pm

Hi guys,

Perhaps not the right forum for this but I'm guessing you guys have alot of knowledge in this area.

I picked up a wood core wakeboard in mint condition from 2009, hyperlite roam, that does not fit modern bindings as the inserts have the wrong spacing.

I am going to get some new boots soon with the modern setting, (I can't remember the spacing but they're all the same on boots nowadays).

What is the best way to make work with the new bindings? Drill new holes?! Make a new plate? Other!?

I have tons of free time and access to semi decent tools.

you want to google:

retrofit lock kit

to be honest tho I would just make my own adapter bolt a short extender plate on both sides out of some aluminumt

I have a big box of inserts they aren't that expensive and you can buy them drill more holes fill them in with epoxy, maybe a little fiberglass, but it kind of sucks to drill holes in a mint board, that's the only reason not to do it this way.

It's up you I guess

maybe. Depends on the bindings. Measure your inserts. there's other retrofit kits out there if the LF ones aren't right. The standard (modern) spacing is 6 inches and usually old bindings were 6.5 inches but sometimes 7 inches or 8 inches.

Right okay. Where do I measure them from? i.e what form the 8 inch measurement
