Hi,
the Takoon Skoop 11.5 is very similar, a good kite for Airblast-style kiters. But the Takoon has more low-end.

kGreg

Obvious choice would be an AMP 8.7. Was out today feeling very comfortable when some else on a Rhino 1 9.3 (compared to the AMP's 11.8 flat) was getting overpowered.

Hi RB,
sorry, the AMP is a GREAT kite, but it's very different to the Airblast concerning flight characteristics. Every kite around has a better depower than the Rhino.
The AMP pulls definitely earlier (stronger) than the airblast and also has a lower high-end.
Regards,
kGreg

I agree on the Takoon Skoop 2 as being very like the 8.4. THe 8.4 is an excellent kite. I have a couple and also the Skoop 11.5. I always flew the 8.4 with bridles and am flying the Skoop without. In this configuration, the Skoop has a little more bar pressure. I find it makes your kite location awareness better. The Skoop seems a bit more stable, and a little more hang time. Not yet clear to me if it goes any higher, but the 8.4 is the benchmark to beat. I am very excited about the level of performance of the Skoop. It was an automatic transition from the Airblast. It has all of the positives of the AB with a few more thrown in.

Everybody is forgetting the Globerider kites.
THese are made from the same designer as the airblast and the takoon.
I have an 11.5 and found it a great kite.
I use to have an AB 8.4 that I kept for a month and had to return it in warranty.
From my experienes with the airblast I can say that the Globerider 11.5 is more stable but surely have the same windrage.
I am sure I will get some comments now as people in the north do not really trust the brand.
Buy or try one and you will not be dissappointed.
You will also have a kite that looks in no way to the others.
There is review on flysurf.com about the 14.2 .
If you want I canb let you try mine when I am back in Belgium.
See yah ,
