This iland realy sucks.
The beach by maspalomas is dirty with oil.
And there are no space to kite safe.
A lott off rocks also.

So my advise is never go to the canarias for kite surfing.

I am stuck on this shitty iland for 3 weeks with all my kite surf equipment.

:(

Adios

erikkie, what a bullshit! I guess you never been there. No dirty oil at the beach nor you can find rocks between playa del ingles and faro maspalomas. 6Km without any rocks or anything else then sand!

for more informations where you can go kiteboarding on gran canaria: http://www.kitesurfing-kiel.de/spot/grane.html

Hi. Definitely the problem are not the rocks in Playa del Ingles, nor the oil (which oil?) but the ban, It's forbbiden, don't dear to launch a kite as police will take it and you'll be forced to beg at the town hall for it.
If you want to kite, and E or ENE blows, try playa de las Burras or San Agustin Beach, there are some rocks but with booties are not a problem.
If N or NE try Pozo or Playa del Burrero (near Carrizal.
In any case contact CUTRE Surf Shop in Pozo, ask for Jonas or Juan Enrique Phones 0034 653472936 or 0034928 172570.
The place may be not the best in the world due to the mostly stoney beaches but from Oct to Feb, in playa de las Burras is rather windy. Just take care not to annoy anyone and find a good place for launch were you put nobody in danger. Cheers.

I was kiting yesterday from 20.00 a clock till 20.30 on playa de ingles.
Wind was verry gusty but i make a couple off jumps and was crousing a little.

I rent a car so i will be crousing to see if there are nice kite spots.
On day time it´s not possible to kiting in maspalomas dunas, to many people around there.

I have to correct it´s not oil on the beach but it´s black sand under the white sand i never seen it befoure.

And thanks kriss for the information

Regards
