Foils Stink. PumpMeUp was Right!!!!

Postby Foils Stink » Sun Jan 04, 2004 2:36 am

I got suckered into buying a Flysurfer and it sucked. The bridle kept getting tangled with seaweed and briars. The other guys were doing drift launches and my stupid kite wouldn't launch at high tide. It kept collapsing too when I got behind some trees. I got a Globerider and love it. PumpMeUp was right. Foils are shit.

I think PMU actually works for The Foil Kite Marketing Board. His plan is to make LEI users look so dumb that everyone buys foils instead.

Hey FS,

I agree that bridles and weeds are a bad mix. But to slam foils due to such a erroneous reason isn't being fair at all to the performance of the kite. Which kite? Why did you buy it? I only ride foils in the winter because of the same reason, but the are great kites for different reasons.

Fair enough. I'm glad you're enjoying your Globerider. I tried a Toro II 14 yesterday and the stability and speed through the turns were very impressive. Very nimble compared to my foils.

How were you suckered? What were you looking for in a foil and what did the dealer promise you? In what way were you unhappy with your previous kites?

Thanks

Greg
