Rhino 07 and kitelooping!

Postby Puetz » Wed Jan 24, 2007 6:47 am

G'day,

will the Rhino 07 be harder to kiteloop than say a Vegas 06. From info I have read on the forum so far the Rhino 07 has more direct power for jumps and hangtime so will this mean that the kiteloops will be harder, ie bigger power spike? I can do kiteloops on my Vegas 06, but I was never game enough when I had naish X4's, would it be the same on the Rhino?

cheers for now,

Robert.

it will not be like an X4. Totally different kites, the R7 has a flat design, so it turns different.

What he really means is the power that it generates during the loop.

thanks guys,

I know what you mean Toby, I don't have any experience with flat kites (one short try of a switchblade 16m and it put me off flat kites, this thing had slower turning than my Rhino 06 20m, so I thought if this is slow, maybe the rest are?, anyway I'd say I'm wrong with the new kites).

Having the jumping of the X4, but the "looping" of the vegas, then this is the kite for me, and with my weight, I need all the help I can get.

Toby, I know the turning circle of the vegas, in your opinion does the Rhino 07 have more or less of a radius, also the direct feel of the Vegas is great, would the R07 be the same, I know this is all opinions but I respect your opinion and would love to know?

cheers again,

Robert.

I rode V6 9m (and V6 12m) last year. Now i am riding a R7 9m proto.
R7 turns even faster than V6 9m and tighter (less radius).
AND, guess what: the same direct feeling (must check with direct comparision! Seems better when depowered than v6 9m fully depowered).

About kitelooping, hooked in, R7 felt easier to kiteloop than V6. I was with so much comfidence in it, i felt completelly at home from the 1st moment.

If you like V6 as much as i do, you will love the R7. Seems to have more power when you pull the bar in and more depower. I need a couple more rides to comfirm this.

Note: i rode a lot on the V6 9m

See you!

Hey Wawando,

thanks man, thats good news, just what I wanted to hear. I've placed my order for a couple of kites. I was in two minds with a Raven 07 or Rhino 07 as my final choices, the old Rhino has won me over, especially that we can have alot of the characteristics of the Vegas and the benifits of a big jumping machine. How can you go wrong, man kites a getting good nowadays!!??

Thanks,

kind regards,

Robert.
