Postby James Bond » Fri Jan 05, 2007 9:00 am

I'm after a 2 kite quiver with the following qualities:
100% de power
big boosting
one pump
good for learning to unhook
performing freestyle
simple set up
15-35 mph
able to self launch/land

your suggestions please :-?

Commander Bond.
I am very happy with my setup. 12 Shockwave II for massive power and boosting and hangtime like nothing else and riding waves. A very powerful kite. :-)
Add on 9 Boxer SLE for learning unhooking and freestyle. Note, that I wouldn't unhook it in 35 mph though.
The bar has a little pigtail you can use for extra depower, it you drop the kite while unhooking.

It does also depend a little on your weight etc. but in general I think those two kites would satisfy what ever you can throw at them...at least they do for me.

Easy self launch, put the chicken loop at a fixed point, but the kite on its side at the edge of the wind window...walk back you your kite hook in and pull in the bar...it xan also be self lanced other ways...

Add on a vodka martini for after your session and you're set ;-)

Naish Torch3 or North Vegas7.... Depending on weight. 14-10 or 12-8

Stay the hell away from SLE kites if your serious about doing the unhookt thing..

get 'Q' to whip up something special for you!!!!

I think many of the 2007 sle's or 5th supported C's will fit the bill for you though mr bond.

I think 1 pump is a gimmick and there is no single 100% guaranteed 100% depower kite though...........

My suggested kites for you - Waroo pro 11 and 7 if money is not an issue
or the standards are great as well.

big boosting.................................................HELL YES
one pump ................................................... ONE PUMP with clips to seal struts

good for learning to unhook...........................for sure. nicely powered but still fast unhooked.

performing freestyle......................................YES
simple set up................................................SUPEREASY no pulleys on bar etc
15-35 mph....................................................easily wit only 1 kite
able to self launch/land..................................YES

James,

Just about any 2007 C or hybrid Kites will suit your critea.

To name a good 4:

Naish Torch
SS Fuel
F1 Tribal (may not be 1 pump)
Cab Switchblade 2

There are so many more including RRD, Liquid force... seriously I could go on.

Importantly before making any choice there are 2 vital things to consider:
1) support your local dealers/Instructors!!
2) Try before you buy!!

Hope that is of some help
Luke.

As ever try for yourself, too many people with an agenda on here, either brand biased or blinkered because they haven't tried anything else themselves.....what works for some may not work for you.
