Puerto Vallarta spots?

Postby dack » Sat Apr 14, 2007 7:46 pm

I'm going to Puerto Vallarta in 2 weeks. Can anyone give me some information on conditions, beaches etc?

- Best spots?
- Typical wind conditions?
- Hazards or spots to avoid?
- Any laws against kiting?
I've attached map of where I am staying - is this spot any good for kiting? I'm thinking the Marina area to the North might be a problem if the wind is going that way...

I've only been there once, but I believe the marina in the pix is a major cruise ship port on the south side and a Navy base on the north side.
Not saying it's undoable, but the beaches are pretty congested south of there. Maybe drive a bit north and do Nuevo Vallerta?
That's my non-local, one visit imperssion.
Good Luck :bye:

Sayulita, up north is a perfect little surf town. Great for a day trip, nice point break, good seafood, layed back Mexico vibe.
Don't know about the wind, but if it blows it would definately be a perfect wave spot.

Yep, Sayulita rocks for surfing.
Wind rare there is the word. Perfect base of travel though. Some great spots far further south by the way about an hour and a half south of PV..
