Ozone Instinct Sport line question

Postby knut_alexander » Mon Apr 16, 2007 8:33 am

I've just bought a 7 and 11m Sport, but only got one 50 cm bar with 25m lines for both of them. Is that okay? Or do I have to buy another bar for the 11m? What is the different between the bar sizes?

Mate you will have to buy another bar for the 11 as it needs a 60cm one. Also the new instinct manual states:

"Never use the instinct with any other bar and make sure that the bar is correct for the kite"

Hope that helps :bye:

You can always buy a new chicken-loop and replace it for the longer one (the on thats on the 60cm bar). It will make your 11 turn a litle slower but the 11 doesnt neccary need the turnings-speed it has. Its up to rider preferences. And you risc stalling your smaller kites by using the extra 7-8 cm depower, but as long as you are ok to not oversheet the small kites youi are fine this way..

I would buy the bar though, then you get the full Insctinct effect!

I ride the Sport 11 on the 50cm bar with 25m lines.

The kite theoretically depowers a little bit less on the 50cm bar when compared to the 60cm bar, but the difference is not noticeable to me.

The important thing however is that in an emergency you need to either release the kite completely or release to the front line release system. Theoretically, if you stay hooked in, but let go of the bar, you will be a bit better off with the 60cm bar than with the 50cm bar due to the longer depower, but again, I can't notice the difference.
