Ever ridden a Spleene Rip and not liked it?

Ok I found my light wind board on another thread, now I'm
interested in the Spleene Rip. Particularly the 128,
however, I'll read comments on any of the Rips.
Has anyone ever ridden the '06 (or even '07) Rip
and not liked it? If so, why?

I have a Rip 138 and was out on it this morning in really strong conditions riding a 7m kite (not much kite for a 225 lb rider).
Really big wind swell and a nasty shorebreak.
The RIP 138 worked ot just great.

The only thing I don't like about it is the footpads. Too small for my size 14 feet....

I'm very happy with the board. Particularly great for high speed on choppy conditions where the tip flex kicks in. I often find myself ridding faster than other guys out there when the chop kicks up.

I agree the 2006 footpads were a bit short for larger feet.

I understand that they have enlarged the footpads for 2007

I also didn't like the fact that it's fiddly to adjust the strap size.
I like to lend my gear so people can test it out... quick adjustment would be nicer.

I had both the '06 RIP 128 and now have the '07 RIP 128.
I loved the '06 RIP for its balanced ride. Very smooth and does everything with ease. I found that compared to the Nobile 666 range the RIPs were a far more balanced and easier ride.
The new '07 RIPs have slightly better low end and upwind ability and a little more flex in the tips which gives you better grip when powered. However these are very marginal differences as both shapes are very very similar. So the difference is very subtle but noticable.
The most obvious differences are the new graphics and the new pad/strap system which is ace.
You can't go wrong with either.
We still have one '06 RIP128 left in our store(only supply within the UK) and already have sold out of the second shipment of '07 RIP 128 with more coming next week.

You can buy my RIP28, not used much, good price. I am looking for a RIP22 instead, have a Hein and the bottom/top end is exactly the same as the RIP, can't seem to sell the Hein though.

Yes the board is good, if you want you can get my Rip128, only bad thing I can say about are the straps, to small for me as well! Sell it for 399€
You can have it in 2 weeks as I have to wait for my new 127 Wildseries. cyclon-kiteboards.de is not able to ship it before that date! Actually this one is pretty similar, just gives me a little bit more pop and looks wild!
Maybe i should just eat less and train more

I've got the '06 rip 128 and love it!!! Very smooth in the sloppy/choppy conditions here off of Miami Beach. I've still ridden it with my Contra 14m as low as 10-12. And powered up it is in its element in the chop or on butter smooth water. I do have the smaller fins (4cm) which take a bit of getting used too at first but no probs after the first session or two, with the smaller fins very maneuverable . Very happy with it!
