Unhooked jump to blind

Postby Morfin » Sun May 06, 2007 4:57 am

I need some tips here. Today I tried, and tried, and tried, the little jump to blind, and then pass the bar once you land. Not ONCE did I manage to complete the trick. I have been seeing it in videos, I have it clear in my mind, I just didn't get it.
Any tips on things to consider, to keep in mind, or just tips?
GRACIAS!

Do it like a hp, ie pull in with arms twist body and kick board around. Also, look the way you are going, if you keep looking downwind you'll never get around, look over your shoulder.

I have been trying these as well. I can land bind but only last 2 seconds before my feet either come out of the straps or I get yanked backwards.

should I be holding the bar with my front hand in middle of the bar? I think part of the problem is im landing then my kite is being steered down which pulls me off my edge.

Yeah, bear off jst before you do it, makes it a lot easier and leave your hand in the middle of the bar to limit kite movement.

Hi,
I agree with everybody and I`d just like to add smt
1. gain speed
2. put your front hand in the middle of the bar- kite low
3.unhook edge hard you need about 2m.height so your time in the air is good enough to complete the rotation to blind
4.just after you feel the appex of your jump- bend your knees and start rotating /after you master that railey to blind is easy/
5.try to land little more on your back foot and flat- this will help the board to auto orientate moving towards the kite wich is essential to slacken the lines.
6.pass the bar

Regards,
L.
