Does anyone know where I can purchase line extensions for my 16m kite to increase its wind range preferably 10-20m?
By the way does anyone know the rule of thumb when it comes to extending the lines on a kite, I currently have 27m lines on a small 18" bar (really sucks for litewind days). I just need more travel for my kite since it turns so slowly when i try to sine it.

The bar is your problem, not the line length. 27m is about the longest most people use. You could get extensions and go to 30m for reasonably long lines. But that 18" bar will always haunt you on your big kites. 23" is probably more like it.

Extending your lines on a 18" bar is just going to slow it down even for.
Get a bigger bar.

You need a bigger bar - 60 - 65 cm
also, you can go to shorter lines and your kite will turn faster.

Ok ... well in that case does anyone know where I can find a relatively cheap large bar that can work with the naish shift 5 line system?

ed257 can you explain to me why the kite would turn faster with shorter lines, I thought the bar determines the speed of turning since it is a leaver and the longer it is the more line is being pulled, but why would shorter lines make the kite turn faster.

True, it is not the same as using a larger bar or a pulley bar - both of which will cause the kite to actually turn faster.
With shorter lines the kite's wind window becomes smaller and the kite goes from the power zone to the edge of the window faster. It just makes the kite more responsive. The downside is that your power stroke is not as large - so you can lose some low end and some boost.

I think what Ed meant was the kite responds to your bar input faster when turning on shorter lines because there is less line sag.
When the rear lines sag or have slack, this must be removed before the kite initiates a turn. Shorter lines usually sag less so the kite "feels" more responsive.
Once in the turn the actual turning speed is a function of the bar itself.
I have extended my lines to 35M, 42M, and 54M in the past on a 12M Waroo. The difference in speed at each step was surprising.
35M was a nice compromise between power stroke length and turning in light wind, but the kite already turned fast on stock 25M lines w/55CM bar.
Longer than 35M did not help much and was not much fun either.
Good Winds,
Ken

Hai,
get Yourself a 22'' to 24"" control bar. There´s not too much use in compensating for too small a bar with line extensions.
But to answer Your original question:
You can order excellent high quality extensions in 3, 6, 9 or 12 m length whereever You can buy flysurfer.
There´s a
dealer locator on

Exactly right Ken
About 35meter is the tops in my experience also, for super light wind days.
And the "slack" is the reason longer lines feel less responsive - apart from the huge wind window.
Get a longer bar - and either keep your 27 meter lines (which should be okay for light wind days - quite long for todays standards...), or get some 7-8 meter extension lines for the really low days
