Postby Dr_Rosen » Thu May 24, 2007 2:27 pm

How much money you spend on this sport per year?
Just curious.....

My investments this year
Cabrinha SB1 7 m2 (used)
SB2 10 m2 (almost new)
SB2 14 m2 (almost new)
Xbow1 16 m2 (used)

Crazyfly Allround 145x41 cm (for sale)
Nobile 555 135x40 cm
Skywalker Dimitri Pro 135x47,5 cm

+ board bags and misc. stuff.

Total ? I guess 4.000 USD

Wrong actually. More like 4.800 USD. Mostly financed by selling windsurf gear though........

Not enough! :D

Last year to start out

3 brand new Kites, harness, wet suit, board, booties, wind meter ==> $3500 CAN

Oh and whole lot of gas to get to places to kiteboard!

This year nothing so far. I would like to get another board though.

Interesting question, too much is my answer as well, although I think this year I am doing well...

2006:
HEIN custom 127x40 board (For sale! Tell your friends)
Early in the year, Pulse 7m(swapped it later for a 10m)
Psycho3 13m (sold it, too big)
Psycho3 8m (still have it)
Psycho3 6m (sold it, too much overlap between 8m and 4m)
Psycho3 4m (still have it)
Bought also a Spleene RIP28 (traded it in just now for a Crazy Fly)
About $4000 way too much... Some funds came in from the sale of my old 7m and 10m Speeds and 10m Extacy and old boards, so maybe I spent about $2000 of my own money

2007:
No kites, maybe UDS kits for them though.
Traded in Spleene RIP28 for Crazy Fly Proline 132.
Need to sell my HEIN custom to buy Crazy Fly Proline 122 or 125 Ltd ed.

That's it for this year, so far less than $100... maybe next year I'll buy something again... maybe not, I am quite happy... I am spending more this year on kiting trips though, but I think the wind is also a bit better... It's better to do more trips than to buy gear...

Spend..? I do not spend money, i'm investing!!!

As an exemple, in my garage sits a crisp (kind of) F.one Magic 12. 2002.
How much wouldn't a youngster brought up with up with boring BOWS pay, just to sence a kite that wants to rip you of the water and send you in orbit...ALLWAYS!? This is actually the kite that i started to jump with, because it was the only thing possible to do...

It's all about attitude, if you ask me i haven't spent one euro in equipment...

(My girlfriend is a crazy windsurfer/kitesurfer...he he he.)

First year:
-Flysurfer speed 10m cost me about 1500euros, sold it for about 950euros
-F-one Style 128x36(width is a guess :p) 600euro's Stolen second year!!
-Boardbag 80euro's
-Wetsuit Neilpryde 4/3 250euro's
-Mystic Warrior S 150euro's

+-2600euro's

Second year
- 2200euro's on 3 best waroo's
- Nobile Skimboard 250euro's
- Carved Popper XT 128*39 600euro's
- Secondhand slingshot SRT+boardbag 500euro's
- Mystic razor wintersuit 6/5/3 220euro's
- hoodie, booties, gloves probably around 100euro's
- Windmeter 60euro's
- O'neill 3/2 with removable arms at sellout for 60euro's!
+-4000euros expensive minus the kite I sold = +-3000euro's

This year:
-some repairs, totalling about 100euro's
Looking at a quiver 6, 8.5, 12.5 Flexifoil Ion 2's that will last me at least 3 years total: about 2500euro's I think.
Income: probably won't sell my old kites, but if I get 700euro's for the lot... I don't think its worth selling my backupkites for?? (got a GF that wants to learn)

Damn I spent a lot more money already than I thought tbh! Although after some new kites I'll have everything I want... (hmm or not?? still want a mutant =) )
