Boards

Postby fix78 » Tue May 29, 2007 5:21 pm

Hi all,

I am a 70kg (155lbs) rider with an 11m ozone instinct 2006. Conditions around here are between 12 and 25 knots usually. My first board which was great to begin was a best float series. I am looking into getting a new board.
I am considering

shinn 130*40
North Jaime pro 131*39.5
underground FLX 132*39
best drive series 2007 131.39.4
Skywalker dimitri pro 131*40

What do you guys think ? :?:

Thanks
:bye:

All look like similar, excellent choices for a second board. Demo some if you can, and try to buy locally. Good luck and have fun...

Oh yeah, get ready for the "Don't forget about brandX XXX x XX!" comments

Do yourself a favor, you are the only one who knows how you like to ride. Even though all of those are good boards, doesn't mean they are good for you. For $500-800 investment that you will not see a monitary return on, I would make sure you like the way they ride, and land, and jump, etc.

Catch Some Air in Charleston, SC sells Nobile boards.
since you are in NYC, you may even be able to make a trip down to demo a few boards.
They also have a good return policy if you decide it is not right for you and you need to get something else.

Personally I love my 2007 666 132x41. If the Shinn is anything like the 666, I bet you will like it.
HTH,
Ken

Thanks for your advice,
I wish I could try but there's not much around NYC, maybe I should fly to SC and go shopping .

Can you get your hands on a RIP28 by http://www.spleene.com?
You should definitely test it before you decide!!

Of your list I've only ridden the UG 132, and liked it a lot. It had quite good low end, I am a fair bit heavier than you but still liked the 128 UG better. Good quality board. I did end up choosing a Thorn 131....but surely the UG is a good board. I used to own the 122 flx (and some other older UG boards).

I guess board size depends on what you are using it for. I like to go as small as possible, yet so big I don't have to be constantly powered when I (try) landing wakestyle tricks...

A.
