dutch guy selling found boards

Postby aramvroling » Thu Jun 07, 2007 1:22 pm

Hi all,

The reason I am posting this is:
a few weeks ago I lost my board at sea (dutch coast).
next morning I report to local authorities etc.
next evening a guy offers my board up for sale and three other boards.
The way he described them tells me he's not a kiter.
so I call him on the phone, guess what he works for a civil company that is in charge of maintenance and inspection of the beaches.
In Holland the law says if you find something on the beach you must report to local authority!
instead this guy offers them up for sale at 200 euro each!

now he found another board

since this has a kiteforum sticker on it I thought I would report it here
the guys adres and phonenumber can be found in this post:

Hope it comes back to its rightfull owner!

greets Aram

... a simple phone call should allow you to ask for an appointment to his/her boss.
I am sure he/her will be pleased to know that the guy he/she is in charge of does not respect the law.... :bye:

I'd compain and ask for his "superiors" and tell them you will otherwise report it to the police to enforce the claim. That's theft.

I got my board back for free as it should (I did give him a gift for finding the board = flowers for his wife :D + 12pack beer ). Also from a dutch civil company that is in charge of maintenance and inspection of the beaches (Waterschap Zeeuwse Eilanden)
