kitewaveboards for tiny short people :-)

Looking to buy a kitewaveboard, however, I'm not sure which.....quite sure though that I want a directional.


I have only been riding smaller waves a few times now .....but I think I would like a board sutaible for ½-1½ m waves.


I am seriously in doubt which size I should go for, but have read for surfboards that your height will be an indicator for how long the board should be and the weight an indicator for how wide......


Is it the same for kitewaveboards and what size do you then think I should aim for when 158cm / 50 kg.


Ps. With my weight I do not think I have to worry about the possibility of using a smaller kite.......my 6m is fast enough

hey man,
your not small at all. Your title of your post made me assume it was for a midget.
you have a small kite, so for a kiteboard for surf I would get a 155 cm size
and a kiteboard for flat water, i would get a no more than a 140.

The Naish SS 4'10 wave is a great small board - I only use this as my high wind board (>30knots) as I'm 95kgs.

The board feels very nice, not too fast and with the tri fin set up it turns really nicely and you can kick the tail out really easily either to shed power prior to bottom turning or for a nice lip slide

So is the Naish SS 4'10 more beginner friendly than the Naish SS 5'4, as I have heard that the 5'4 may be for more advanced riders.


And does anyone know how it is compared to the Slingshot SRT 5'5?

Guess I am considering the Naish SS 4´10 or 5´4 and the Slingshot SRT 5’5 at the moment. Any inputs to these three boards for a beginner in the waves?

I don't think the 5'4'' is only for advanced riders. For riders in mine and The Russians weight class, you need to be powered, and it doesn't have super low end (pretty good though for the size due to the long straight rail), but we weight almost twice as much as you. I think the board would have great low end for you. Do you have any way of testing it?

Unfortunately no testing available as all the guys around here is riding either 5'10 or 5'11, which I guess would be rather big for me.

But do you think the 4'10 would be to small for me.......or would the 5'4 be more like the 5'10 is for say 65-80 kg riders (>175cm)? (OK, know its hard to say......but just give it your best shot if you do not know what size other smaller riders prefer)

And what is the difference when riding with either 3 or 4 fins (guess that is another difference between the 4'10 and 5'4).


Sorry for all these questions but no waveriders around here is my size.....so hard to maybe get the right beta.
