I am heading to Kos very soon.
We stay at the Oceanis Beach Resort, next to the Big-Blue Surf Center.
Do you guys know if the place is suited for kitesurfing?
I am a bit concerned about:
- the side offshore wind (too side off?)
- the launching area, if any (the beach looks very small)
Anyone has been there?
Thanks in advance
Frank

go to kos city at the northen end point of the beach you will find the atlantic
hotel and an empty army base, across the way is turkey and you can see windsurfers on the other side [turkey side near bodorum}
there is a little beach next to the army base if you go around the corner the wind will be onshore good to kite exactly opposite the atlantic hotel great cross shore wind.
you can get there from kos city just by walking north on the breach till you get to the tip of the island [on the side that faces turkey]
cheers

Thanks Kook but I am not sure to understand. Are you talking about the "point" that is between Kos city and Psalidi (the begining of Psalidi)
or is it towards Lambi?
Do you think it is possible to launch from Psalidi (Oceanis)?
Thanks
Frank

this is - lambi
usualy the wind NW so psaldi > offshore(if the wind will be more N it's o.k),the beach narrow with little stones(not sand)
i think tingaki & marmari the best spots.

your sign is south of kos city i told you to walk north along the beach to the tip of the island not to psaldi but towards the tip lambli,there you will find the atlantic or atlantis hotel there is also an army base or so at the tip with a small sand beach great for kitesurfing.
the other side of the island kefalos is mainly good for windsurfing gusty offshore wind.
kos is one of the nicest of the greek islands because the local people are real nice,
near kefalos on the north side there is a club med where i heard there is also kitesurfing{dint go there so i am not sure}
cheers
