Takoon burning 5.1?

Postby satanXX » Mon Sep 04, 2006 4:59 pm

Anyone had the chance to test this board? Any review on it?

It arrived here in Denmark today, and I was out this evening :thumb:

Small waves, and choppy - but average windspeed around 32 knots for a while.
Used the 7m2 Nova2, so no problems riding waves even in this wind.

Not ideal conditions for a waveboard - but it worked great anyway...

You can really make tight turns and push sooooo hard with your back foot when hitting the lip 8)
OR, put your weight on the front foot - and race ahead in great clean drawn-out speed bottom turns :thumb:

Best thing is: There is anti-skid surface between the straps - ideal for jibing ! (wax is a shitty thing, as it will mess up your car and everything, when it is in the car and its sunny).

It is not as big and voluminous as other wave boards - and this is its strength IMO.

Only one first day of riding, in "not ideal" wave conditions....

Excellent build quality.

Kindly, Peter Frank

in 32 knots, smaller is better
and especially if you are average weight or lighter
even with a small kite

The true mark of overall effectiveness
is function in a large wind range
lets see what you think in 14

the good ones do both :thumb:

We have just received our Burning boards here in Durban South Africa - we have had a load of waves over the last week or so and wind pretty much every day or 2 for the last month -

Pity we could not test the board out in these waves !!

The Kite was a Takoon Nova 2 7m - and the board is a 5'5 surfboard - winds were around 38 - 40 knots with the gusts up around 45 knots !

Got the board on the water today - Nice - worth the wait - solid construction and nice finish - all good ! Great drive off the bottom and solid in the waves -

Waves were a bit small but we have good swell and more waves tomorrow !!!!!
