9m or 7m SLE?

Postby joeyb » Thu Jul 19, 2007 2:15 am

I'm thinking of buying a high wind kite that I will only use on vacation (windy destinations) and ~2x a year at home.

I'm an advanced kite boarder, like directional/waves, weigh about 215.

Q !!How high of a wind (average) do you "typically" use your 9m or 7m SLE?!! :-?

I'm thinking I should be able to use a 9m from ~28mph to ~40mph
Or a 7m from ~34mph to ~46mph :o

crumbs ur heavy bud - i am 185 and the 7m waroo suits me up to well over 40mph so u should have no worries up to 50 mph

9m kites are often the sweetest kite in a range so why miss out on an classic like the waroo 06 9m it should suit u up to 40 mph and these winds are much more fun anyways.

P.S. i have a 9m and a 7m - they are cheap as chips - so u can walways treat urself with two bugdet kites.

DocUK
Thanks for the reply. "crumbs ur heavy bud " Heavy but honest

I'm leaning towards 16, 12, 9 quiver.. (currently have 16 & 12). Was thinking about a 16, 10, 7 quiver.. but am thinking I will hardly ever use a 7.

I've windsurfed during hurricanes.. but since I started kiting I haven't spent that much time in super heavy wind. Which is why I appreciate the feed back.

cheers

get a 7m2 if you wanna do top end wind.

a 12 m2 7m2 flat combo is right to cover almost all conditions.

if it's over 35knts., 9m2 flats aint much fun anymore, and the 7m2 get really nice :thumb:
