North 5th element? Can i make a bar with 25m lines into 20m?.

I have an 07' bar and line set with 25m lines. Works great but i want a second full bar and lines with 20m lines for wave riding.

I can get a used bar and lines with 25m pretty cheap, so i'm wondering how if i can shorten them by 5 meters?

Back in the day (2002) i used to make my own lines sets and finish them with end wraps that i could get at a local kite store.

I know there'd be length issues with the front lines and the y-bridle. The two front lines would be the problem i think. Back lines are straight forward and so is the fifth line.

you can, but will take some work I guess.
You have to copy the line length on the spit at the "Y"
The 5th needs a stopper ring.
Once you copied that, just shorten the lines on the bottom (bar) end.
If you got a windless day you should be able to do that.
if you have no stopper for the 5th, the kites might not fly right. Especially the Rebel.

May be easiest to just buy the 20m line set from a North dealer.
Save the 25m lines for when your others wear out.

Denis-
Feel free to bring your bar in to us. We've done it before and we'd be happy to help you with the chopping (it's not necessarily as easy as you'd think) or we can set you up with the fancy ready-to-go-out-of-the-bag-factory-certified North 20m lines if you want.
