Helix vs Xbow

Postby Fer1000er » Fri Sep 07, 2007 5:07 pm

Could some xbow 2007 user compare it with the HELIX ?,

my xbow is super stable, huge windrange, easy relaunch, amazing hangtime, not flapping when depowered, the same characteristics that HELIX suppose to have.

but I'm still hoping that somebody could give me an honest review comparing this 2 kites.

Thanks

Fernando

I don't think those two kites have much in common. Maybe try comparing two similar style kites.

I currently ride the xbow... love it. I have a naish helix on pre-order. Due to arrive in a few weeks so could compare when it arrives but it will be way different from xbow I think.

Why not ?

I think they are VERY similar style kites :thumb:

Have you tried both ? (I have, 12m2's, although only for a short period)

I felt the helix fly like a bow kite. But maybe the cult is more hybrid am I right?
Honestly I don't like how it flies. But heavy riders should love.

i have flown 2007 xbow. Currently 2008 xbow aswell as sb2.

Got to ride the helix last week. Sigma and geotech work like naish claims. Honoustly thats about all i can tell. For sure you need to try a product several times to be able to give a good revieuw.
THe helix was setup 1:1, as most naishriders do. I think thats a shame, and not fully using the whole benefits of the kite. Apparantly the naishkites suck in 2:1. :?:

I was much more impressed with the Switchblade 10 that i tried again from a friend of mine. I have a SB2 12 myself. The 10 is such an efficient kite, big lift, big range. Lowend is about the same as the 12m, riding in highend means very big air. Upwind is perfect.

Im flying xbow 7m 2008. Is more efficient kite than last years. Im very stoked about this kite. I like te way its feels. Its better for unhooked, and kiteloops.

Going to get a SB3 10m and yet again fly a size smaller than previous season.

nope I liked the helix in 2:1 and it worked great..but I will not ride it in 2:1 unless there is a lot of wind...the simple reason is that it is easier to ride in 1:1 and I think most people prefer it that way, but the great thing about it is that you can choose..and now it is sooo easy to change. It'll take 10 seconds...

The general consensus is that Crossbow is better than Helix.

faster turning, easier relaunch and floatier jumps.

You should try yourself though, some take to one kite better han others.
