if i have no other choice

Postby evilgun » Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:48 pm

Im looking for some feedback on a possible kite purchase. I have no large kite any more(13m+) and need a big/light wind kite. Im can't drop $1300 right now or even $500 for that matter. i found some slingshot machines for very low prices and was wondering if get one would be a complete waste of money because that big of a kite is a pain in the ass to deal with or if that really is a good kite and because i want to ride, I shouldnt be picky?
just not sure what to do.

I really liked the Machine 17.5, good big kite!
How about a bigger board as alternative? What is your biggest kite you currently have?

thanks for the reply i wasn't expecting anyone to answer honestly. My biggest kite is an 05 12m torch, and i have an 07 9m assault 2 which almost covers that 12m, my board is a 144 mission. its cheaper to bye a kite than a board right now.

thanks again

i had a similar situation, i only have 12m and 9m xbows and use a 134x39 board, i ended up getting a skimboard, but then i've never really got on with bigger kites, might be worth looking at a skimboard as they are pretty cheap and great fun!

If the kites are cheap enough for you just do it.

Amazing deals on old C kites. If its all you can afford, its better to be out riding !
I wouldn't go over 16m-17m

I bought a new 17.5m Machine this year as well for the same purpose. I got a really good deal on a new one. I think it is a great light wind kite. One of the better big kites I have tried. Board does make a big difference though. I'm 200lbs and have used this kite quite a bit now.
