Fatality in France?

Postby sergi_14_3 » Fri Feb 01, 2008 9:45 pm

I think there is another fatality, anybody can traduce this?
Tchao Loulou

It is very sad to hear that Lou Lou passed on. He and several other kiters were lofted at the same time in La Palmyra, France in 2003. I recall there were three separate QR systems in use and none were successfully activated. Lou Lou, a very active kiter, instructor and family man was left a quadriplegic. There is not information in the account to support this but I wonder if the brain aneurism may have been related to the trauma of the lofting almost five years ago. I understand he fractured his neck in the impact and had to be placed on a respirator.

As a result of the subsequent out cry and lobbying of the French government, the stringent performance standards for QR sold in France were established. Other parts of the world benefited from this move given expedients of manufacturing.

Rest in peace Lou Lou and sincere regrets to your family and friends.
