guess it would overfly a lot easier when you sheet out or oversheet when u pull the bar in...

doesn't sound like the best idea

No problem at all :thumb:

BUT, you are not very specific !

If you have an active 5 line kite, you have to use a 5 line bow bar.
If you have a 2:1 bow bar, it could be "difficult" to avoid sheeting too extreme/fast.

Etc etc....

You should be more specific IMO.
What bar do you have, and what kite ???

But no problem at all if above matches - as it will function very well :P

In fact I have often extended my depower stroke on my C kites (when I flew C kites), because I thought they had too little travel for serious jumping and kitesurfing in general 8)

Kindly, Peter Frank

Hi,
i actually have a 07 slingshot fuel bar(huge depower) that i want to use with a caution spitfire III (tiny depower((throw))
i know they r both c's.
just wondering if the big difference in throws would affect kite performance.
they are both 5 line kites yes.

If the bar is about the correct size and the lines are set to correct length you can use the bar, but there are couple of things to notice:

- you will not get the C-kite to have the huge depower
- the safety when you let the bar go could not be stable enought to use it safely
- with too much depower the kite is not controllable as the steering lines go too slack

C-kites do not work with as low angle of attack as bows/hybrids and this causes the unstability if depowered too much. The front of the kite skin will flutter and will not keep the curve shape just after the LE and this will make the kite unstable. Also the kite hindenburgs/over flies with too low angle of attack and this is a risk in strong winds as it may turn in the air and fly back to power zone without any control. This happens when the bar is let go.

C-kites have been evolving a lot and new C-kites have a huge depower compared to the couple years old Cs and can be used with longer depower stroke, but still there is a limit.

I would not recomment to use bow bar on a C-kite.

where does all this aggression come from?
i did mention in my post that i know they r both c-kites.

you should maybe use some of your pent up aggresion and go to night classes and take some reading and spelling lessons.
now go away.
