Videotaping -How to get the 'over the shoulder perspective?&

Postby droffats » Sun Nov 04, 2007 3:36 pm

I've got a VIO Sport P.O.V. camera that I mount on a helmet, but I've seen some great kiting and windsurfing video that looks like the camera is mounted slightly behind and above the rider -- as if you were standing on a board right behind them.

How is this mount made? Is it all homemade? If so, anyone have any diagrams of parts suggestions? How is it kept stable? Any websites out there with the apparatus shown? Can I buy this thing soemwhere?

I saw a recent video with Top Hat at the Sandbar and I can't figure out what was in that backpack to keep the camera stable. Everything I've tried bounces around to much. It makes the viewer dizzy.

There was also a really nice vid playing in the pizza place in Hood River of windsurfer from the same perspective, but no one knew how it was made.
