Stealing in Kitesurfing

Postby work4wind » Sun Nov 04, 2007 6:00 am

Sold a guy a harness for $89 and due to a mistake on the order he was sent 3 brand new kites and he is not returning any call or emails. Really sucks that these kind of people are are getting into a sport that was such a release for me@!! Let me know your feelings. Thx

how did this happen?
Where do you work at?
Also, you got his address and you should be able to track him down , no?
Spread the word at that dudes local beach (forums etc)
Let everybody know what kites, colors etc.

It's nice to get free kites, but he should say something.
If he would have said something I am sure you would have given him a kick ass deal on the kites, right?

That sux royally. He should send back the kites. Do you have any proof that he received the shipment? If so, then you might be able to go after him in small claims court. Hate to see it come to that, but that's the path that he is laying by not returning them.

Fair works both ways. How would people feel if the fellow had accidentally sent you a check for $189 instead of $89 for the harness, and you just kept the extra money? Fair works both ways. The seller does not lose just because he is the seller.

Stealing in kitesurfing is just like stealing anywhere else, don't fucking do it. A shipping mistake by the seller does not equal buyer's good luck.

call him using for instance skype so he will not reconize the number. You might get to go into dialogue with him. Let's hope he is just inaccessible for other reasons than wanting to keep the kites. Let him know you ar prepared to give him a good offer for your mistake, if he returns the kites?

make his name public. International and national forums. Helps wonders if his kiting buddies tell him his name is public and all search engines show him as a thief...that does hurt bigger some day.

Good luck
