hey
the new smartloop looks like the ideal setup for a bar. its super clean and simple, so i really want to retrofit this system to my kites without having to buy the whole naish bar. does anyone know where you can order one? ive looked all over on the internet and found nothing. maybe a naish rep can help me out?
thanks

they should be widely distributed right? I think they were sold out on maui nashi shop, but they might have gotten it back in, or maybe just the store in kailua..they don;t put everything out there...
http://naishmaui.com/
http://www.naish.com/main.html (click the shop)
according to the guy in the store on maui the retrofit kits are super popular...appearantly they fit well to some of the other bars.

Here the Smartloop/smartloopbar sells good to the Guys on Best (They get a decent bar in spring if they are lucky)-Eclipse(WOW, what a bad CL)-Rev(I'm bulky and busy, you are?).
Just make sure you have a decent fit from the CL on your bar to get the full use off the self-orientation CL.

Your local Naish dealer should stock them. I put one on my 2007 naish bar and it fits fine, just be sure that the hole in the bar is wide enough for the ropes.

would you recommend to change the hole as well? I know the 07 bars had the plastic hole, and the 08 has the stainless steel one...I have my 07 5 line bar I am considering upgrading.
I am just thinking of wear...

As far as I know, you cannot change the auto-orientating loop that comes with the 08 bar, but there's no need to. As for the hole size, there is only 2mm difference between the 08 Naish bar and the 07, so there's no extra wear on the rope

yeah, i have flexi kites with the v-core bar, so i figure the auto-orienting thing will work pretty well.

On a SS REV, which block could be at the top of the depower rope to make adjustments easier? And what about working/breaking loads for such a mod?
I have been looking at the Ronstan ones at
http://www.ronstan.com.au/marine/SAblocks.asp
Is 6 mm sufficient for the depower rope diameter? If yes, then the series 20 can be used where the sheave is 20mm.
And how should the setup be if combined with a swivel and a Naish Smart Loop to achieve the spinning functionality?
http://www.ronstan.com.au/marine/range. ... 30#related
Something like the below?
Or this one maybe with a different block?
