Is it possible to change the graphic on a board?

Postby prayfawind27 » Fri Mar 28, 2008 9:03 pm

i have the Air rush Air force 110m board
http://www.airush.com/products/airforce.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I was wondering is there a custom kiteboard company that can change the graphic so i could make it more personal?

We offer a custom graphic printing service. Email me directly and I can send you an adobe illustrator template so that you can make your own graphic. We can then sublimate it into the PBT and build the board.

maybe just talk to a printshop. They might be able to make a sticker that is waterproof... I don't see how you could change a design already on a board.

also if your shopping for a new board try cardboards.com.

:angryfire: Are you a board shaper, designer, i can tell you're not, so why even bother answering the post you don't know if it's possible or not, leave the answering to the professionals

Woow - cool down...

His answer is IMO very correct !

A waterproof huge sticker(s) is one way to do it.

But otherwise - my experience is that you wont get away changing the colours by any means with paint or similar on a "final" board :o

it will get very "bad" looking very fast - be schratched to "useless" looks.

And/or weigh a ton, as the original design is embedded into the laminate and you have to make a new thick "layer" to get some resistant airbrush

I've build many boards earlier, and talked to many of the shapers lately also, about this specific issue.

So I think you got to live with/get used to the design, or get a new board - or use stickers :thumb:

Kindly, Peter Frank

thanx!

another option is if you have access to, do another jell cote (spell) (boat finish)
Or automotive paint (=$$)
custom orders are the way to go , I guess.
I asked Adrian already, waiting for a reply as we speak.
