Youre looking for the Balance Pro 133, its all about pop and upwind. Check it out www.wearebalance.com. I'm sponsored so obviously biased, but I wouldnt be riding it if I didnt love it. PM me if you're interested

*pop* is a much over used word to describe flex and flex response... imho it should be banned from forum and advertising in regards to boards... should only be used to describe what happened to the bladder of you kite.... :jump:

I have to agree with kitedayzed. You will never get a straight answer. Try everything you can and make your own decision. What board do you ride?

Pop is greatly dependant on rider technique. Different boards require sometimes minute timing and technique adjustments to achieve similar takeoff and hight.
Of course, the more tip area the less water is displaced and the more the board responds to rider input/leg strength. Make it relatively stiff and you'll have a jumping machine. However, whatever takes off has to land (eventually). For smooth and forgiving landings you need a board that displaces more water and has more flex.
Personally I like to sacrifice some take off performance for more confortable langings and directional sability in chop.
As it is allways the case, its a matter of compromize!

not always true aeberl

stiffness doesnt always = good pop

take a rockerless board and make it really stiff

compare to:

a rockerless board with APPROPRIATE flex

Kiteboards don't have the best rocker for the sake of efficiency, they are too flat. That is where proper flex patterns allow the board to reach the appropriate rocker and then become exponentially stiffer, thus giving the best of both worlds.

back to the task at hand

best pop board:

the fastest board YOU can agressively carve and stay completely and totally ON TOP of and in total control. No one can tell you what the best board is but you, ride alot and then use what you've liked to compare to next years models as opinions rain in.

case in point

went out on the lunacy and couldn't get crap out of but punishment,

another board... longer/ wider with a different flex pattern and a less parrallel outline gave much better airs

Im sure Lenten rides whats best for his riding, but it aint the best for everyone

don't worry, i know that is difficult to judge a board, and it's really a personal thing. i'm just collecting info on boards, here almost everybody is riding very soft ones, looks pretty gay to me.
currently i'm riding ss misfit.
yesterday i tried an underground flx, (impossible to find here), and my powered passes (kgb for examples) were 2m higher than usual...

Pop on a board is not to do with sent jumping at all. Its loading against the water and releasing quickly and some boards are MUCH better at it than others. The word should not be banned because some boards are meant to do this and some are not thats all. He asked what boards do this best.
