I saw the trailer video in the ikitesurfmag site and it was all except an instructional video. More like an MTV video.

I just watched it and would give it two thumbs up. It Covered lots of stuff that I am pretty sure I will find useful and may not have figured out on my own. But I am farily new to wave riding.

I also thought it was terrible. There is a bit of instruction in there but its too basic and rushed, and as far as I'm concerned punts slingshot a lot. Ben Wilson has the charisma of a dry piece of toast. If you're looking for and instructional dvd of the same calibre as the progression discs, stay far far away from this one!

I invited 4 kitesurfers over to watch SMACK. They didn't think it was an instructional video.
It didn't describe the types of waves and how you would get started on a actual wave ride. Only Ben rides and he really can ride.
The progression approach of breaking it down into doable pieces was absent. No intermediate type rider was shown. The waves and the photography were great but i've never seen waves like those. They are unlike anywhere i've traveled.
It had some ideas on what a bottom turn and off the lip look like, but not really on how one might get started doing them. He didn't mention swimming and a great deal of water comfort as prerequisites for getting started in the Ocean
I'm still paying my dues in the Gulf of Mexico, watching waves and other riders and asking questions.
The Real Surf instructional wasn't that great either.
Teaching in the surf is harder than on flat water with video or without.

Just as I thought. I wont waste my money on this one.
The progressions dvd are trully instructional videos. I hope they will develop a wave riding one.
For me, apart from other things, it should includes shots of kite and rider in the same view and a window showing at close up distance the rider to see what he is doing; all in the same wave.
