According to a podcast with Pete Cabrinha (asnews) the flying characteristics are supposed to be equal to the 2008 model (if I didnt misunderstand)

No it does not twist up on fowards or back rolls.

Flight wise, i have been a switch blade fan for a while, and this kite i think is different than last year cross because it jumps really hig and floats, the 1-1 makes unhooked tricks very smooth, it creates alot of apparent wind when you load it[so light wind has great bottom end] and goes up wind very well.

I am shooting video next 2 days, so if anyone wants something specific let me know.

The reason i went over the system so much is there are tons of questions on it.

More questions , more view......rick i is riding it today, so maybe he can make some coments.

Thanks for the info so far Paul - I found it very useful.
I normally use a carabiner to replace the chickenloop, so I could clip a leash onto the ring at the QR like you did.
The recovery of the bar for relaunch was not shown clearly and I noticed you pulling back to the bar while the kite was dropping. Can you elaborate on the recovery. I know you normally only need to let go of the bar, but would the kite be less likely to damage in surf if on stage2 until you got in to smaller waves, then recover the bar?
You did a normal spin launch. Is the water launch from downwind by letting out the front lines to drift the kite a good option?

Is the Xbow 4 a high performance monster kite? I really miss the ball-tearing power of my old 06 Sonic.

I currently ride the SB3 because it is a great kite and has a much more simple bar than the Xbow. With IDS I assume all Cabrinha kites will have the same bar so that difference will be gone. The SB3 has good power and allround performance but it does not really offer rip-you-off-the-water jumps. Would the Xbow 4 give me serious power and performance?

Can you show relaunch from the self landed position?

5th line kites can do this extremely quick when its windy.
