Well if I was a kite maker I'd sign that guy up as my official kite tester.

I can see it now, eewww, it's a plane, it's a bird, no it's Kevin testin out that new AcceLLo model in a 60 knot tropical gust.

Ouch, that concrete wall musta hurt. No worries folks, he's on the morning news and he says it's a great kite but the safety needs work.

He looked silly and the reporters weren't easy on him. That pretty much killed his credibility.
Nothing personal against Kevin, but if we are honest, that's the best thing that could have happened (at least if he were going to say he would do it again, and will).

The weather man also clearly stated the difference in riding in solid 30 and riding the leading edge of TS where the winds are unpredictable and can go from 15 to 60 knots. I was glad he made that point. Hopefully people won't think that is some type of every day possibility.

Well, I don't think you can blame the meds completely for the many bad comments Kevin made...he'd definitely kite again in a tropical storm. He also said the day he was out was a "great day" to kitesurf, "everybody" was out (I doubt it), and being lofted across the street was only a "little" dangerous.

Next time he goes out in a tropical storm, which he said he "definitely" will, he said he'll wear his snowboarding helmet though. Glad he learned an important lesson: When kiting in unstable, unpredictable, dangerous tropical storms, in highly populated urban areas with innocent bystanders around, and busy roads and buildings nearby, be sure to wear your snowboarding helmet.

Yeah, that weatherman was pissed at him, and rightly so.

You can blame it on the meds if you want, but in that case, he shouldn't have gone on.

The old saying " A few sour apples can spoil the bunch " comes to mind after that one.

With the publicity this guys is getting all I can say is good luck keeping access to your beaches in Florida.

Kudos to the weatherman for his reaction and tutorial on why you should not be out in a tropical storm.

Maybe his favorite cut off V-neck sweater vest was at the cleaners?

Mr. Kearney should have chosen his words a little more wisely. To say he'd go back out in a tropical storm made him look like more of a kook.

Getting beaches shut down because you have more balls than brains isn't cool. This was a golden opportunity to somewhat redeem himself AND the sport. I don't think he did either.

Glad he isn't dead or in a wheel chair though, sincerely.
