Where to kite in Buenos Aires area?

Postby SPARKUSMARCUS » Fri Oct 29, 2010 12:02 pm

I've recently moved to Buenos Aires and it looks like really good conditions tomorrow, trouble is I think its off-shore at Peru Beach, where can you kite when its an easterly and get to relatively easily?

Oh and I'm busing and training

Cheers

With this kind of wind in BA you can only kite at lagoons, and you will need a car, they are at least 50km away .
You can go to:
- Dique Moreno
- Laguna Chascomus
- Navarro
- Lobos

Tomorrow we will have winds from the west in BA, which are offshore. Lagoons are the only option.
In Peru Beach we ride from N to SE.

How long are you staying in BA? Do you have a car?
With this winds near BA I'd recommend Chascomus lagoon.
If you have a car and you want to drive, you shall go to MdP. Sunday SW 25 nts. Great wind for surfing the waves. Once you are in Mar del Plata. Go to Horizonte Beach. One of the best surfing spots on the Argentinian shore.
Cheers.
Tio.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I don't have a car, I'm living in Palermo until the end of January.

Are there any people who kitesurf or surf who live in this area (ish) I was thinking if they don't mind jumping in their car and giving them the petrol money?

Cheers

Hello all!

I am going to buenos aires on march 9 2012. I am a kiter from san diego with following kites Cabrinha 14m, 11m, 9m switchblade 2012. Should I bring the kites? Any recommendation on places for kiting? Is it worth flying to bariloche and spending most of my time there? How about ponte del este urugui. Thanks! Any information would be appreciated!

going to bariloche it is worth, but not for kiting
in punta del este, there reallly nice spots, and waves when there`re no wind
but it also depends on the forecast, as well as B.A. ,
may be you get several kiteable days, or you only get 1 day out of 7
