Can't Jog/run the day after kiting

Postby ed257 » Wed Jun 03, 2009 3:32 am

Does anyone else here find that their legs really don't feel up to running or jogging the day after kiting (unless you just went back and fourth in 14 mph).

I am 52 and try to stay in shape, but after a hard day of kiting I find that my legs just don't feel up to the task of running. Two days after they are OK again.

Does anyone else experience this?

Ed

Kiting is an intense workout, because you are so focused on the process that you sometimes don't realize how tapped out you are getting.
I get out there and I don't want to stop, it feels so good!
Before kiting my record for continuous windsurfing was 8 hours...totally wiped after that.
I've only been able to make it to 5 hours kiting, and I payed dearly for that day.
Felt like someone had thrown me down a flight of stairs the next day!
The only part of my body that wasn't sore, was my dick.

Ain't that the truth!
The wind always gets me up, even if I'm sore as hell!

I found it difficult to kite, the day after running.

I gave up running.

After 50, it just takes longer to recover after pushing it to the limit. That's all. What used to take 24 hours to recover, now takes 48. But, if the wind is blowing, and you get psyched, you can still pull off 5-6 days in a row before you're ready for that 1-day shutdown. Then, be good for another 3 days before another shutdown. The problem's not your shape; running is just plain boring compared to kiting. Hard to want to run after getting your ya-yas out kiting .

I hate running, try some skating (skeeler / inline skate).. more speed more fun
I don't do anything sportive after a day kiting, nothing comes close to kiting. When the wind blows I just get out again.
You can combine kiting and running; the Jesus style...
