need a 2nd kite cabhrinha

i have a liquid force havoc 2 12m that goes fro 11knts -19knts great kite,but have been geting overpowered and need a kite that is sweet form 16-25knot range. I ride unhooked on a cab custon 010 140x42. Would prefer to buy 09 or 08 kites. What size switch blade would do this 8m or 10m?

what is your weight ?
If you can ride at 11 knots with a 12 on a 142 boards, I would suggest to go for a 8 m kite.

I weigh 190 and the SB3 8 doesn't start kicking in for me until about 20. I'd go for the 10.

For 2010 Cabrinha has released a 9m Switchblade which should easily cover the wind range you are looking for and would be a great complement to your 12m. Would be a good to get an idea of your weight just to confirm that the 9m SB would be the best size.

Yes this is what i was thinking, a 9m kite but one that has the biggest 15knt + range as possible. And i assume that a bow style "sb3" would do this? also needs to unhook well and turn slowely impossible?

As the 9m Switchblade is only being offered in the 2010 model, then you will have to consider going for either an 8 or 10m in the 2008 or 2009 model. The 2008 and 2009 Switchblades are both great for unhooking and are very stable in the sky, however feel very different from each other. The 2008 tends to feel gruntier than the 2009, however the 2009, feels twitchier and more responsive to bar input. The 2009 has 22m line while the 2008 has 24m lines. If you dont go for the 2010 9m which would definately be the best choice, I would then go for the 2009 in the 8m then the 2008 SB3. As you ride the Cabrinha Custom 2010 140 which has significant rocker, you will need more power in the 8m kite. You would probably be looking for at least a 18knot starting wind range rather than 16knots which probably could be achieved if you were riding a flatter board of the same size. If you are not concerned with having a 18knots starting wind range, have a look at prior years 8ms, however if you want that 16knot starting wind range, save the pennies and go for the 2010 9m...
The 2010 Switchblades, again feel very different than all Switchblades going back to 2006. This years 2010 SB's I have to say are even more rock solid in both construction/build quality and when up in the sky.
