soft struts

Postby mr moon » Mon Aug 03, 2009 1:14 pm

Hi guys, just wondering if you have an answer here.

At the end of last couple of sessions, I've noticed something abnormal (I think) in my 12mt Obsession. It seems like it looses pressure in the struts, in fact 2 different ones in the 2 sessions. I normally kite with the struts closed, so if they loose pressure could mean that there is a hole in the bladder? But then again, why 2 different ones? When I unclipped the lock the pressure will reach again the soft strut, but I didn't check how long for as I was in a ruch to leave the beach.

I wonder if I am doing something wrong or if there is a fault somewhere?

Cheers

I assume you have a one pump.
So, when you inflate the kite, you have full pressure in all the struts.
Did you crash your kite? Was it real gusty? Did the weather change?
All the above make a diff.
If not, then you have a leak in the struts or your "clips" don't seal right.
Or, the tubes are bad or have a bad connection.
Bad= corroded ... rubber goes bad after a while.

ps: the weather change was a joke, if a low pressure system is close, your whole kite will be softer, or stiffer? good question. no idea.

Check your connections. inflate your kite, clip all struts, deflate the LE, and watch your struts. If they deflate.....there you go, if not.... the kite is fine and you just smoked some bad weed the last time. :-)
