I'm pretty stoked with the SS Mayhem. It's got a similar flex to the Lunacy (on the stiff side) but more rocker and tapered tip/tail. To me, it makes it a lot easier and more fun to ride and pop in choppy water. It's a really good freestyle board for chop. If you lean more toward freeride, the Misfit or Darko are probably better.

Thnks bro!
Can you compare freestyle perfomance between Mayhem and Misfit
I ride Lunacy 129 - love it very much. Also rode Misfit 2012 in different sizes - super stocke. But didn`t tried Mayhem yet.

They're both good boards. I'd say that the Mayhem is better suited for unhooked load-and-pop type tricks. The Misfit is better suited for boosting because it's flatter (faster). I like a little more rocker though, especially in chop, so my preference is toward the Mayhem.

Hi, I am also ownwer of a 2010 Lunacy 129 and like it a lot , a bit heavy for its category though, can you confirm this year mayhem is lighter (can you put it on a scale for us with pads and straps +fin?) .Thanks in advance for the effort!

So Slingshot has stolen the name, same lack of creativity as when it comes to designs :slurp:

the lunacy was quite good in choppy conditions and fantastic in flat water. thats where i use a tt most of the time. when i´m in the ocean with some waves i take my kite-surfboards usually. has anyone ridden both the mayhem and the new darko? i guess for more flatwater performance the darko is the better choice? i thought the last lunacy rode quite pleasently soft in chop. much more comfortable than the 09 lunacy. is the darko like this, too?

The darko will be even more soft in choppy water. It's a softer board than the Lunacy was.

Just weighed my 136 Mayhem at 15 lbs (with wet boots, not straps). Slingy boards aren't exactly the lightest out there, but personally I like the swing weight. I know not everybody does. Better arm workout when I'm walking up the beach, too. :D
