So this Friday will be the Bridge to Bridge race.
It is an all out downwind race from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Bay Bridge in San Francisco bay.
It is usually Kite vs Windsurfer vs Skiffs
But this year at least 1 AC 45 is in it and so is Hydroptere
The 3 top kite racer are back in town so what do you think will take it this year?

Even if the kites and windsurfers come close to the AC45 and Hydrpotere, it's still going to be great to see. Kiters will be on about $5000 worth of equipment vs. multi-million dollar (i'm guessing?) boats.

That's going to be a good one! Though it would be even better if top formula windsurfers lined up as well. Nothing against the locals, but they're not in the same league as Williams, Dagan, Albeau, Allen, etc. Whereas the local kiters are top of their class!
was looking at the entry list, where did u see ac45 and hydroptere were going to compete? All i see is the regular stuff, windsurfers, kiters, 18s, one tornado, some weird kind of trimaran / kite contraption skippered by donald montgue from naish, and some other cats
I would not be surprised if there's no hydroptere or ac45 in what is basically a "speed racer" kind of race with almost no rules and a high risk of damaging your boat.

Heard it from some of the guys that work at the AC.
I did ask the StFYC race office if they are going to get waived off it they don't sign up
They already get mad at us kiters that show up and sign up at the last minute.
