Stubbie or not to be

So, naish launch the stubbie to a mass of hype, and to tell the truth I'm tempted, ready to move to a shorter board and having tried wave trays, and x shooters, along comes a production board that might do the trick.

The thing is naish have a great history as a hype machine, but not as a board manufacturer: Sky pirate (7'!), eventually launched a sort of twin tip that was a dog, although lots rave about the mutants.

So what is the opinion out there? do they deserve my $?, they've got them for the kites. But can Naish cut it as a boaard manufacturer? in six months wil the stubbie be just another sky pirate languishing on the for sale forums, or is it really someting.

I Pur-chased a 115 after having ago on one!
thought they were the Dogs Bo110cs

they get going in lighter wind than you think they hold down stupidly high wind the turn really good they hold you on a wave really good. they pop jumps really good they are tough as enything around.

Ok Paint comes off the rails a bit but I certainly don't care.

the weight think is rubbish on the beach holding it i feels a little heavy but on you feet you don't notice any difference.

I think there are a lot of anti naish thinking people who have just dismissed this board as it is very different to anything else out there. Oh and its Naish

it has a really deep concave and quite a lot of rocker with a bit of volume thrown in. The guys who developed this obviously new what they were doing designing this baby.

Now for all the people who HAVENT ridden one can say what I have said is crap.

Have a go on one and see for yourself.

I haven't ridden one, but I have ridden another 110. Look at what the pros were riding in Germany. The super short trend has come back to something more conserative. 125-130 is becoming the popular length for 04. I agree after trying 110, 125, 128, 130. I like 128.

I have the 115 and 127 and I don't regret the choice.
The only issue I found with the 115 is that you get easily some spray when riding in choppy water, otherwise it is a brillant medium-high wind board (I'm 80kgs).

Well, my mate got a SS "stubby" Misfit 119.
First time on the water he got back and got his Zeppelin again.
Then changed the fins on the Misfit and used it again.
He's still not as raving about the Misfit 119 as he's even after a year about the Zeppelin. He loves his Zeppelin

Only excuus would be that he still has to get used to the Misfit, but other then that I'm reluctant in believing the "stubby" hype.

Will try it soon myself and see what's about.

Got a 115 and I love it!

Its not an all-round board IMHO - although you could ride it in most conditions if suitably powered.

My other board is an F1 sk8, I find the 2 really complement each other, the sk8 is fantastic in chop and lighter winds, whilst the stubby rocks on the flat and waves when its honking.

The stubbie is REALLY lively and great for ollies and switching but also has great grip when you need it, the sk8 feels like a sky pirate if you ride it straight after though!

The only downside that makes it uncomfortable in chop is the amount of spray it throws up - right in your face, a small price to pay though.

Dont write this one off as hype - it really is a great board.

The Slingshot board is not a "Stubbie", it is a short board
yes, but not a stubbie in concept so no good to compare there.

Same with the Short Wave Tray's, short wide boards yes, but no stubbies.

What I am trying to say is try a Stubbie, the difference to other short boards are HUGE.

Much thicker, no flex and wider?
