Several of these guys could have easily been killed on impact. It just goes to show you never know how you will hit, in advance. This is a collection of some of the more amazing survival stories for poor kiting behavior in most but not all cases. Erik was the first to be lofted in that fashion, who knew in 2002. Some of the poor approaches include jumping to close to shore, jumping over hard objects, going out in storms, etc.. Not everyone is as lucky as these guys or very fortunately, as careless either.
This is a much less serious local incident although some bystanders could have easily been clotheslined and cut up when the guy lost control nearshore on landing. Wonder if the rider or the people realized or appreciated that. Kite got trashed anyway.
