Nice video from the Triple-S

Postby mv » Tue Jun 10, 2008 6:49 am

Here is a nice video from the Triple-S.

I really like the way they run the video in slow motion. The detail is great.

There are also some nice clips of a FS "sea anchor" in action. I wonder how he keeps the kite in the air? (That is just a little dig for the foil haters. :naughty: Sorry Bianca I just could not resist.)

I shot the stuff with the Casio Exilim EX-F1. In my opinion the best semi professional cam there is, if you want to film and shoot pictures.

I wonder too what the name of the "sea anchor" is...anyone knows an "official" name for it? Such a cool trick!

He has the kite pretty much on zenith, but then starts a kiteloop, since it goes far to the edge of the wind window...to get it back from there you need to loop it.

The Flysurfer from Sebastian looked very cool in the kiteloops...and also made a very cool noise, which I didn't get on tape. He will do a "how to" for the kiteloops with these clips, we made some more.

Great vid Toby. I really like the music too. I live in Japan and speak Japanese so I was really surprised to hear the second song.

You taking the video also explains all the pictures of Sebastian. It seems he is in almost every shot. Even when you are shooting other riders he can be seen riding by.

I really like the way the Flysurfer logo is facing the camera and shows up nice and proud on the slow motion shots.

Great work!

I shot who came in front of my cam!
Unfortunately I missed the session with more pro riders, so I was happy Sebastian and few other riders were around.

I only film in standard quality, this is not HD, which it can do as well.
But the slowmotions are smaller, not HD.
But totally fine for the web!

The flysurfer is only a 6m! Wonder what size tubes were up that day. Didn't look nukin but it can be tough to tell in the flats. 20 knots?

I gotta admit, the idea of being on a kite 2-4m smaller than anyone else is attractive.

Toby that is some very nice video work, some of the best freestyle shots I've seen.
Great to know you are armed with that great camera..... I'll be looking forward to more great footage!

Do you have a water proof housing for it?

Cheers

Fred

Add to that the fact that you can relaunch there Pulse 2s in seconds and without taking your hands off the bar most of the time.

I have a six meter and can ride it well powered up in 30mph on a 138 twin tip or a 5ft 1inch directional and I weigh 225lbs dry (add full wetsuit, helmet, impact vest and seat harness).

It's a rocket fast kite, very fast turning, BUT not nervous.
I also like the simple "no drag" launch even when the sand is blowing knee high.

Here is a little bit of video that shows how fast and responsive the Pulse 2s are.
It's just a few momments of flight the vry first time I put them in the air so I was not
throwing them around as fast as they can go.
The little blue kit is the 6m ( I was underpowered a bit)
The Red kit is the 8m
The other kites were 10m and 12m, but keep in mind I am at least 40lbs heavier than the others
in the shots
